The mode of genetic inhertiance is what’s called autosommal recessive. Here you can see what the genotypes are and what the matching phenotypes are: AA → Negative, they don’t have it. Aa → Negative, but they’re a carrier for the disease, which means they can pass the disease on to the next generation. Aa → Positive, they do have it.
